The basic selection process comprises three main components. The individual candidate will be assessed at three levels, that is, the Preliminary Written Test, Physical Efficiency test preceded by Physical measurement test, and Final written test. AP Police Selection Procedure 2019

Preliminary Written Test:
The paper is comprised of 200 questions with one mark each that makeup 200 marks in total. The candidate gets only 3 hours to solve the entire paper. All the questions are objective in nature and you may choose among three set of languages as per your linguistic domains. Either you can go for English, Telugu, or Urdu. One must qualify the level one in order to appear for the next level. If one fails to do, his candidature will be canceled there and then.
- The minimum marks to be secured by the applicants in order to qualify in the Preliminary Examination Test in the Paper are 40% for OCs: 35% for BCs, and 30% Sc/ST/Ex-serviceman.
- All Questions in Written Examination will be Computer based objective in nature and will be set in English, Telugu and Urdu Languages. Applicants have to answer the questions on an OMR Sheets using Blue Black/Blue Pens Only. For This Purpose, applicants should bring Blue/Black Ball Pen along with them.
- The Marks will be obtained in Preliminary Test will have no relevance in the Final Selection which will be based on the marks obtained in Final Examination only.
Physical Efficiency test preceded by Physical measurement test:
Under the Physical measurement test, there are different standards set for men and women. The height of the male candidate should be 168 or more, while that of a woman candidate should be 152.5 or more. The weight of the female candidate is not acceptable below 45.5 kilograms; it could be more as well. The chest size of the male candidate should not be below 82 centimeters.

Physical Standard: The Applicants should meet the Following requirement
(I). For the Men:
(a). Height: Must Not Be Less Than 167.6 Cms.
(b). Chest: Must Not be Less than 86.3 Cms round the chest on full inspiration with a minimum expansion of 5cms.
(a). Height: Must not be Less than 152.5 cms
(b). Weight: Must not be Less than 40 Kgs
- Eye Sight: Visual Standards Required for the above Selection Shall be as Follow:

Under the Physical Efficiency Test, both the male and female candidates must clarify the rounds of 100 meter running, followed by the long jump and then 1-mile run. The time duration is noted and the acceptable duration is different for different positions.

Applicants Declared qualified as above shall be required to be undergoing the Following test and qualify as specified below.

Final Written Test:
It is the last and the most important stage of the selection process. This is because the score obtained in this exam will be responsible for your merit and selection in AP Police. The paper again has 200 questions which must be solved in the duration of 3 hours.
